Coming Soon Release Date TBD
Living on the streets since she was a kid, Alex had lost count of how many foster homes she ran from. If she didn’t want to stay, she left and ran back to her gang because they were the only family she has ever known. She’s a gang banger and her reality is simple. Tomorrow, she could be dead. That was life on the streets, and she had no choice but to accept it. The only passion inside her strong enough to beat that sense of hopelessness was her poetry. She daydreams daily of escape, closing her eyes and imagining herself on a real stage.
A lifetime later, the story begins when Alex gets paroled. She must lay low for a bit to protect a close friend on the inside and moves to the mountains of New York to live with her son who she barely knows. Starting over, she cocktail waitresses at a hip-hop club and attempts to sell her songs to already established acts on the side for extra cash. Taking it one day at a time to make ends meet, she finally gets a break.
Knox has just been honorably discharged from the marines after three tours is Afghanistan and decides to stay with his best friends for a bit so he could learn how to be a civilian again. Arriving in West Palm beach, he is unprepared for what he will see when he walks into Dreamfield, a state-of-the-art sports park and entertainment facility but is excited to get on a bike again and race. Then Jules Riggens, the owner of Dreamfield and wife to his best friend, tries to recruit him to manage her security.
Meanwhile, in a small hip-up bar in upstate New York, a battle of the bands was being judged by a well-established drummer in the industry, a career musician for the world-famous Stephanie B. The video is brought back to Dreamfield, where Stephanie Dee and Taylor Riggens manage a successful label out of Dreamfield. Knox sits in on the viewing where everyone witnesses a girl get up on stage in front of a crowd that immediately boos her off despite her brilliance. The performance is so impressive, the team makes a decision to help her because no-one in the hip-hop community will pay her any attention. With nothing else better to do, Knox agrees to help track down a nameless woman out in the middle of New York.
When complete strangers arrive at Alex’s house with a fairytale story, it’s hard for her to believe. They say they want to represent her but what does that even mean? She’s an ex-con, wannabe white rapper which is a joke in itself. With very little opportunities to support herself and her son, Alex decides to take the leap of faith and prays with all her might that this once in a lifetime opportunity is for real. She gets on a plane with her son in tow and flies to West Palm Beach to make an album where she meets the Dreamfield family who welcome her and her son with open arms. Then there is Knox, a guy that opens up things in her that were turned off for a very long time and just when life’s looking up; her past came backs to haunt her.
Donald Fitzgerald is a powerful crime boss who has a dreaded history with Dreamfield. He wants to take them down but has more prying issues to worry about. He will keep killing everyone she knows until the problem is eliminated and then he will focus his attention back on her brother, Taylor Riggens and his wife who stole Dreamfield from him. They must pay.
Alex is reaching the pinnacle point of her career and if she doesn’t get it right, she may never get another chance. How does she start a career in the public eye when the enemies she is hiding from, still want her dead? She could lose everything including her son. Alex tries to hide her past from her new family but Knoxs’ instincts kick in, sensing there is more to her backstory then she’s letting on. Worried about his friends, he investigated her past to find the link that will put his friends in danger. Unfortunately, his feelings for her mean he is right in the middle of this raging war. He will do what needs to be done to protect her and his friends from a common enemy that wants them all dead.
With the help of the Dreamfield crew and someone from Alex’s past who is forced out of hiding, this close group of misfits get on the ride with Alex without a seatbelt. They not only help her survive her enemies, they give her a chance to find her voice and share it with the world.
